Who is Doug McVinua?

Doug McVinua started his real estate career in Iowa in the 1980s and elected to move to Arizona in 1998 to pursue real estate in the “Valley of the Sun” full time. Over the years a number of clients, many of whom were investors kept asking Doug to manage their properties that he helped them purchase.  Owners were often frustrated and disappointed with their current property management solutions prompting Doug to get his brokers license in 2012. Blue Sky Living, LLC was opened and property management started to serve those additional client needs. Property management has grown for Blue Sky Living over the years and while Doug continues working with buyers and sellers, he has also found he enjoys property management.  

Experience

• Licensed in Arizona since 1998 with a brokers license obtained in 2012 provides valuable knowledge that is used daily to navigate the real estate business and protect our client's interests.

Industry Involvement

• Volunteered for and held numerous roles within the real estate industry including; Director at the Southeast Valley Association of Realtors, Director at the Arizona Association of Realtors, Director at the National Association of Realtors, Director at the Arizona Regional MLS, SEVRAR Grievance Committee Chair and Chairman of the Board at the Arizona Regional MLS.

• Property management can be stressful at times and a successful manager needs to have an innate ability to be patient. Some days it’s a challenging tenant, other times a contractor with a slightly different time frame than needed. Having the ability to listen and reason helps to navigate those challenging times that will occur.

Toughness 

• This might seem counterintuitive given the bullet above but sometimes a property manager has to lay it on the line. Collecting rent, evictions, holding vendors feet to the fire is not always for the faint of heart. When it’s time to stand up and resolve the situation Blue Sky Living will get the job done.
